The Justice We Need
"I don't believe we should have a re-vote for the teachers" (Mr. Bill Wilson)
Is it the intent, to deconstruct the Monroe City School System?
As much was said, in the December 10, 2024; Board meeting.
In fact, the statement of Board member Wilson in reference to the ad hoc committee suggested the potential decimation of the School System, which dates back to the 19th century.
"system in addition to that it's my understanding that the following year two schools could then be uh recommended
and brought forward for Charter application to the BESE Board again and
then after that another two theoretically you could see a Sally Humble and a Lexington uh moved to go Charter 2 and then the following year after that potentially Neville Junior High and a JS Clark;
Lord knows I'd hate to see that happen to our school system because basically if that were to occur academically --> we'd be bankrupt ---take losing those schools we can't afford to let that happen and that's why in the discussions I said
look I want an understanding that you know if we(the) board approve a type three that we're not going to go down this road for these type two applications
for these other schools
and I was told absolutely not" <--Mr. Bill Wilson's words
The fuller fallout of NCA's efforts, are such that the entire City Schools' campuses would be subsequently affected, requiring a wider public input.
